This remake of a slightly silly 1985 "vampire hunter" film, Fright Night, is getting some positive buzz as a much more intense and serious film that its predecessor, especially with Colin Farrel in the role made famous by the much less rough-around-the-edge Chris Sarandon back in the day, and the redoubtable Roddy McDowell replaced by a dark and dangerous version of the television vampire hunter (now a successful Vegas illusionist)--this one courtesy of recent Doctor Who David Tennant, in a role everyone's waiting to see. But no good vampire movie can make it through ninety minutes without an Exotic Vampiress or three, and often as not those exotic women are Latina. (Our personal favorite: Salma Hayek in the early stages of career development--well, not that early--in Robert Rodriguez' From Dusk til Dawn. ) This time the honor is taken by Sandra Vergara, who is somehow related (or not?) to Sophia Vergara (we don't want to get into the middle of that), and does seem to resembles her in certain key strategic ways. Dreamworks and director Craig Gillespie (United States of Tara) recently released a few more scenes from Fright Night, and one of them showcases Vergara at her finest. Take a look below...and take a moment to wonder what she'll look like when fully transformed in a blood-sucking she-demon. (We're still shuddering over Hayek's snakey-bloodsucking thing from years ago.)

Fright Night (2011) Movie Review
A remake of the 1985 original, teenager Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) suspects that his new neighbor Jerry Dandrige (Colin Farrell) is a vampire responsible for a string of recent deaths. When no one believes him, he enlists the help of Peter Vincent (David Tennant), a self proclaimed vampire killer and Las Vegas magician, to help him take down Jerry.
